Who is your typical client? ↓
We have worked with boys, girls, men and women, students, moms, and professionals. The average person is 25 years and older and someone who is looking to improve their health concerns. If everyone was taking care of their colon the world would be a happier place.
Why Colon Hydrotherapy?↓
A healthy colon is essential to a healthy body. Conventional diets comprised of refined, processed foods, high in saturated fats, and low in fiber contribute to many problems associated with the large intestine. The elimination of undigested food material and other waste products are as important as the digestion and assimilation of food-stuffs. Waste material remaining stagnant in the colon results in the decomposition of these substances and increased bacteria and resulting toxins.
According to the American Cancer Society:
- It is estimated; over 70 million Americans suffer from bowel problems.
- Colon cancer is the second leading cancer killer in the U.S. and over 100,000 Americans die annually from this disease.
- 100,000 people undergo colostomies in the U.S. per year.
- Many people who aren’t even aware they have a bowel problem are often in the worst condition of all.
What about the use of laxatives?↓
Laxatives aggravate the problem of constipation by interfering with the colon’s ability to eliminate normally on its own. The chemicals contained in laxatives irritate and stimulate the colon to abnormally contract to expel the irritating substances. In addition, the oral route of administration is the least optimal method of evacuation of the colon as they interfere with very important digestion occurring in the stomach and small intestine. Most laxatives and purgatives precipitate dehydration in the individual. Standard enemas only cleanse the rectum and the last portion of the colon missing most of the large intestine.
Will colon hydrotherapy help me lose weight?↓
It won’t hurt most people carry between 10-50 pounds of impacted fecal matter in their bowels.
How do I prepare for my first session?↓
A day or two before your appointment you may want to eat light, non-cream soups or stews with lots of vegetables and fruit. Staying away from red meat and seafood is advisable. Chicken, fish, brown rice, is ok. You might want to avoid gas producing vegetables and carbonation (e.g., pop, beer, sparkling water). Try to cut out alcohol and excessive sugars. These are JUST recommendations. Staying hydrated is very important to the health of our bodies, drinking 60 ounces of water with 3-4 fresh lemons is very refreshing for the body.
Most of us have heard about the colon cleansing products all over the media lately. That is ok to look into as long as you are working with a reputable therapist – if you have questions please call us to discuss (though this is not mandatory). Please no food or liquids 1 1/2 hours before your appointment. Try to arrive 15 minutes early – give yourself the time and space to appreciate the experience. The intestines work best when they are relaxed.
Does it hurt?↓
No, sometimes the muscles (peristalsis) contract and the contraction of those muscles may feel like cramping or gas but that means the peristalsis is starting to work –a good thing. This is the body’s way of letting us know it is working! Most people find this type of therapy very relaxing and relieving.
Are there any side effects to colon hydrotherapy?↓
It is not uncommon to feel lighter and some say they have a sense of clarity. How you will feel is a very individualistic experience –no two people are exactly alike or have the same results. A clean colon lightens the burden on other organ systems that eliminate waste and poisons!
Is colon therapy embarrassing?↓
No, you are completely covered during the entire procedure, resting comfortably on the massage table. It is important that the therapist helps each individual maintain the utmost dignity during the session. It is a very relaxing experience.
